Neath Job Centre Visit

I recently met with staff at Neath Jobcentre to learn more about how they support local residents, including the various programmes and pathways available, and the barriers that can stop people from entering employment. We discussed two challenges in depth - transport, particularly the availability and frequency of public transport options at the start and end of the working day, and childcare. I was pleased to hear about the flexible support the DWP offers to help cover initial or upfront childcare costs for those on Universal Credit who would otherwise be prevented from taking on work.
