A report has been released by the Swansea Bay Maternity Support Group
A report has been released by the Swansea Bay Maternity Support Group, a group of families affected by failings within maternity services in the Swansea Bay health board.
The report highlights the harrowing stories of families who have suffered loss and trauma, while highlighting structural and cultural failings within these services.
Sioned Williams MS has paid tribute to the families that have spoken up about their concerns and said:
“Numerous reports into Swansea Bay maternity services have highlighted long running problems, yet progress seems to be painfully slow.
“Today, as we mark Birth Trauma Week, a harrowing report direct from those affected by the failings should force the government into taking seriously the structural deficiencies within our NHS.
“These are problems are not confined to Swansea Bay health board. Issues with management, staffing and training within our NHS are letting people, families, and communities down.”
